First Sunday of Advent: HOPE
Wonderful Counselor
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
But as for me, I watch in HOPE for the Lord; I wait for God my Savior. My God will hear me!
Micah 7:7
Anticipation! It is in the air. We look forward with hope and anticipation to Christ’s coming, recalling the prophecies about the Messiah and the hope He brings to the world.
Get still. Take 2 or 3 deep breaths.
“Lord, You are the Wonderful Counselor. I give you my weariness and worries” (name them)
Take a deep breath
“I acknowledge Your presence with me, and I receive the hope You freely give me.”
…a thrill of HOPE- a weary world rejoices…
(O Holy Night)
Hope of all the earth Thou art…
(Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus)
